Learn to dive with iDive

If you’ve drifted away from diving, you’re not alone

We see it all the time. People qualify as divers full of excitement and good intentions… and then life happens.

Work gets busy. Holidays get postponed. Dive plans turn into “sometime soon”. Before long, months or even years have passed and getting back in the water feels like a bigger step than it should.

That drift isn’t a failure. It’s normal.

What matters is knowing that you don’t have to “start again” to move forward. Your skills are still there. Your experience still counts. Sometimes all that’s needed is the right environment, the right people, and the time to rebuild confidence at your own pace.

Diving isn’t about constantly chasing the next qualification.

If you’ve drifted, you’re not behind. You’re just at a point where the next chapter can begin. If you want to know how to get back into diving give us a call. We’re waiting to hear from you.

Our club meets at Fore Street swimming pool in Ipswich from around 7pm, as we have the pool from 7.45 pm-8:45 pm on Thursdays, and afterwards we are most likely to be found at the Admiral Nelson pub which is nearby. This is where the real organisation of trips and social events really happens!

If you are interested in joining us, please send us a note to info@idive.org.uk from your phone or other device and we will respond.

Welcome to Ipswich Dive Club (iDive)

We are a friendly local dive club based in Ipswich, Suffolk. We are branch number 32 of the British Sub- Aqua Club (BSAC) which is the national governing body for scuba diving and snorkelling in the UK.

Our experienced members organise dive trips in the UK as well as overseas so we are certain you will find a trip that will be of interest to you. It would be easy to fill this page with all of the things we can do but the best way to get to know us is to arrange a meeting and visit us at the pool.

In the safe confines of the pool, a BSAC Instructor will introduce you to the basic skills and equipment needed to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the very first time. Try Dives cost £25.

A typical Try Dive session lasts about 45 minutes. It involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in our pool with a BSAC-qualified instructor.

What our members say...

We are a friendly club focused on UK diving but also venturing overseas when we can. If you like your diving to be sociable why not come and join us.

Ian Cross

Diving around the coast of Britain can be excellent. If you are a qualified diver or thinking of learning, a club like ours is a great place to pursue your interest.

Alan Beaumont

I’ve been diving for many years and can honestly say that our coastal waters offer some of the best wreck diving in the world (when the weather and visibility are on our side!) and exploring it with friends in our club is the best way to enjoy it.
