Sea Palling, also historically spelled Pawling and Pauling, is a village and civil parish covering 5sq mi in the English county of Norfolk. The village is 19.6 miles south-east of Cromer, 19.6 miles north-east of Norwich and 140 miles north-east of London.

Over this weekend we have been having outstanding diving in Norfolk. Ian Brown, Thomas Holdaway, Connor Read, Karl Wilkinson, Shaun Leaberry, Glenn King, Clive Cartmel and Ian Cross all took part. Weather was fine if a bit breezy at times and we manage to confirm three positive locations for wrecks newly emerged from the Haisborough sands 8 miles offshore. We dived the largest target on Saturday and the again today, and the Hareclive on Saturday afternoon.

As it happens we met the Lowestoft club on the wreck today and they said the wreck had been identified recently as the Ontario which sank on it’s maiden voyage in 1864. See this on the Norfolk Wreck research.

Editors note: Sea Palling is a regular haunt for iDive and we are frequesnt visitors over the summer, it being not too far from Ipswich, and having some surprising visibility and newly found wrecks.
