Stuart Smith was a very keen member of iDive who sadly passed away whilst still a Club Member. His parents donated a sum of money to the Club to be used to improve the quality of diving within the Club.
The Committee believes that the best way to achieve this is to support those members of the Club who develop their skills and become instructors so that they can give back to the Club.
It is suggested that the following are paid for out of the Stuart Smith Fund:
- Cost of courses but not travel or accommodation for:
- Club Members who attend an Open Water Instructor Course and then use those skills to deliver training
- Club Members who attend Assistant Advanced Instructor, Advanced Instructor and who then use their qualifications to support Club Training
- To meet the costs of Club run courses that benefit the Club. Examples might be:
- In house Boat Handler
- In house Diver Coxswain course
- Costs of these courses would include fuel for the boats, launch fee’s etc and inclusive any course material costs.
